K2 Straight Stairlift Outdoor

The K2 Outdoor Stairlift by Savaria builds upon the most popular straight stairlift made by Savaria.

Suitable for BC climates, this outdoor stairlift includes a stainless steel rack and support legs, along with zinc hardware for rust resistance. The seat and backing are made of UV-rated, water repellent closed cell foam. An upgraded battery also offers a long-lasting charge even in variable climates and temperatures.

With the same mechanics as the K2 Indoor Stairlift, this model also offers a smooth and quiet ride, this model can accommodate up to 350 lb.

Safety is built-in to the K2, with battery powered operation, with automatic charging that can be used even during a power failure. Additional safety features include obstacle sensors and a swiveling seat for easy outdoor access.

My stairway has a turn in it. Can a stairlift be installed?
YES! HME offers customizable curved stairlifts that can be installed in almost any stairway.

The K2 stairlift is a straight stairlift. Depending on your staircase, another option we offer is a combination of multiple stairlifts, such as two straight stairlifts, which may be more economical.
How wide do my stairs need to be to install a StairLift?
The folded up width of the K2 stairlift is only 10.75" (27.3 cm). Typically a minimum of 30 inches is enough room to install one with lots of room left over for others to use the stairs.
How long does installation take?
Depending on your stairway and home, installation only takes approximately 4-6 hours for standard straight stairlifts, and less than a day for custom curved stairlifts.
What is the installation process?
Our trained technicians take about a half day to install a stairlift on-site. Stairs are measured in advance, and your stairlift is made specifically for your staircase making the installation process quick.
Does the track attach to the wall or to the steps?
The stair lift track installs directly to your steps, meaning no modifications to your studs or structure of your walls.
How far from the wall will the track be?
Each installation varies, but the K2 stairlift can typically be installed within 4.45 inches from the wall to the closest edge of the rail.
What is the weight capacity?
The K2 can support up to 350 lbs. For a staircase angle greater than 45 degrees, or with flip-up rail, maximum capacity is 300 lbs.
Does HME Accessibility offer price matching?
YES! HME does offer price matching to guarantee the best price for our Bruno or Savairia stairlifts and vertical platform lifts. Additionally, HME offers the free HME Basic Warranty on top of the standard manufacture’s warranty.
Are there warranties available?
All of our Savaria stairlifts come with the standard manufacturer’s warranty in addition to our exclusive HME Basic Warranty. HME also offers the HME Platinum Warranty for added protection. Learn more about warranty options by clicking here.
Can I finance a stairlift or vertical platform lift?
Financing is available for all of our stairlift and vertical platform lifts.
Will I be charged taxes for my stairlift?
Stairlifts are exempt from taxes in Canada, and therefore HST is not applicable when you purchase a stairlift from HME.
Do you have straight stairlifts in stock?
HME typically will have lots of straight stairlifts in stock in our local warehouses for immediate installation.
Can I move my stairlift to a new location or home after it has been installed?
YES! HME’s highly trained technicians are specialized in removing, disposing, and reinstalling Bruno, Savaria, or Acorn stairlifts. This service is great for clients wanting to relocate their stairlift within the same home or moving their stairlift into a new home.

Working with HME

In-Home Assessment

At your convenience, one of our HME Stairlift specialists will meet with you at your home to evaluate both your home and accessibility needs to find the best stairlift option for you. We also have stairlift demos for you to try at all three of our showrooms for you to see in person and test out!
